Cabinetmaking and the art of going with the flow
Learning about cabinetmaking to become a better person at the Krenov School - an essay on moderation and purpose

When the rain comes
The rain has come to Mendocino, so I’ve shut the garage door and I’m running the fans to keep the wood dry and ready to be used. I enjoy the care that goes along with a timber collection - drying it, understanding each tree. These trees stood alone in the woods their entire lives, or worst case, in cities - with no help or shelter their entire lives. Now I’m trying to give is space to relax without cracking, time, the right moisture and temperature, for years before it’s ready for its next transformation.

The Original Ofuro, Home Again
This Ofuro has meant so much to me over the years. From the first time I laid in in after the accident, grabbing lemons straight from the tree, to proposing to Ashley in it next to our rosemary and manzanita bushes, to our first home in Mendocino, and now our new home in the forest. Refreshed and with hot water on wheels now, home in the forest, I know I’m finally at balance, and where I need to be.
