On Shop Furniture, Day Two
Today the sun is shining, the garage door is open, and I’m still not completely adjusted to daylight savings time so I was up early and ready to work. I grabbed a big piece of cardboard, wrote a big to-do list, and started on this floor.
The drill press stand is much better. I sanded the edges on the best sander, still getting used to that and I need to change the belt, and decided to hit it with a coat of Shellac. The ‘shop grade birch’ is so much better than I’m used to using building sheds and outdoor farm implements, and mockups. I feel like I need to honor this material a bit more, and one coat is dry in an hour and I’m ready to go.
I got the new platform hardware on pretty easy. You never can tell with these kinds of things. Luckily, I really enjoyed putting together ikea furniture.
