Flare Leg Live Edge Table

Undulating corners, whorls of color, and a modern pop of brass make this live edge slab table, made one at a time in the redwood forests of coastal Mendocino, California by Andrew Brant.
A book matched cherry slab of black cherry at a table that can seat six people, this is a modern but organic centerpiece for a contemporary dining room. I designed the legs to be thick, and the support solid, so that it doesn’t need to have any stretchers underneath - great for tall knees, and a clean mid century look, as well as flat shipping.
The natural, solid, book matched wood slab top is left scars and all but stabilized by decorative inlay of brass, geometric and whimsical, inspired by planets, stars and constellations.
The legs are made from 3” thick maple, flaring out to 5” at the bottom, in flared octagons, and it is 30” tall with a 2” thick top.
